Road Closed 1 Lane

July 23, 2022 in The Main Street entrance into the village from Rt. 800 had been closed but reopened to become a one-way street going south into the village. The continuation of this entrance remaining open is in jeopardy. Some people have been using this road going the wrong way on this one-way road. Ample signage has been placed to avoid any confusion as noted in these photos. If this practice continues there will be no other alternative but to permanently close this road to avoid any injury or vehicle damage.

Trains speeds increased!!!

July 23, 2022 in East Sparta Be Aware: The Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad trains which travel through our village has announced an immediate speed increase. The trains have traveled the rails through the village at a speed of 10 mph. The speed has been increased to 25 mph. While this is not an uncommon speed through residential areas for railroads it is a change which we should all observe. If you contact your state and/or federal representatives they may be able to help the village in this matter. As always do not ever try to beat a train across the tracks, especially with this increased speed.
